Petroleum is recovered mostly through oil drilling (natural petroleum springs are rare). This comes after the studies of structural geology (at the reservoir scale), sedimentary basin analysis, reservoir characterization (mainly in terms of the porosity and permeability of geologic reservoir structures). It is refined and separated, most easily by distillation, into a large number of consumer products, from gasoline (petrol) and kerosene to asphalt and chemical reagents used to make plastics and pharmaceuticals. Petroleum is used in manufacturing a wide variety of materials, and it is estimated that the world consumes about 90 million barrels each day.

What is the difference between wood, HDU, and PVC for making signs?
Wood is of course a beautiful product especially if it is stained or varnished. If it is used outside, however, is requires constant maintenance to keep it looking new. Even if it is painted for exterior use, the paint will eventually peel.HDU, or high-density urethane, is a light, strong, foam made with very tiny bubbles making it easy to sandblast, carve, and shape. It comes it many thickness and in larger size signs usually requires a plywood backing. It is also more susceptible to dents and scratches due to the foam subsurface.PVC comes in 1” thick material and can be built up to any thickness. It has a hard skin and you could hit it with a baseball bat and it would do little damage except for a scuffmark. Our paints have a specially formulated PVC additive that “welds the paint” to the surface making it “peel proof” and aids in preserving color retention in the sun over the life time of the sign. No other company has this. One time one of our customers sent a sign back that need some “scratches repaired” as they put it. When the sign came in it had a tire tread across the face! Luckily the scratches were on the back or the sign. I called the customer up to ask what happened and they said the sign was leaning against the rear bumper of their installation truck and they were asked to move it. Forgetting the sign was there the truck backed up and ran over the sign! All we had to do was lightly scrub the tire mark off with soap and water and ship the sign back. If the sign were HDU or wood they would have been demolished beyond repair.
Do you supply touch up paint?
Yes! We have small bottle of touch up paint with brushes we can send to you upon request.
Do the posts need to be put over 4 x 4?
We DO NOT recommend putting 4 x 4’s inside the posts. This makes the posts too stiff and the sign can bend in the sun. The posts and the sign need to move together, keeping the sign flat. The signposts do need to buried in cement in cement the depth is dependent on how high the posts are out of the ground.
What files do we need to send to you ?
We prefer .AI (lower versions, CS2 or less) .PDF and .EPS file formats as these work best. We also accept CorelDRAW, and if you are sending over a .cdr file please save the file to version 8 or less.
What is New Kit’s ordering process?
1. You MUST be a retail sign shop to purchase directly from our company.
2. If you are already a retail sign shop (skip to #3) if not, apply to become a dealer online, em
ail us or contact us via phone.
3. We will need clean vector artwork to manufacturer your project. Send us your vector artwork in .eps, .ai or .cdr format.
4. Upon receipt of your artwork, we will require payment to start the job. We are a COD company. The payment policy is simple, if your project is less than $1,000 – we will require that it be pre-paid in full. If your project is over $1,000 – we will require a 50% down payment with the remaining 50% due on the date that it ships.
How far should the posts be buried in the ground ?
That depends on local sign codes. Typically, 1/3 of the post should be in the ground so an 8′ post would be 32″ deep.
What type of paint are used by The New Kit? What is the warranty on your paint ?
We use an acrylic latex paint similar to Ronan. Our paints have an additive that ”welds” the paint to the PVC eliminating peeling while increasing the color retention in the sun.
Is PVC OK Outdoors? Indoors?
PVC is made to be outside. Unlike HDU, raw PVC will never degrade or yellow under the suns rays. Even if the surface coating of PVC got damaged the underling material would not absorb water or be damaged by the sun. PVC works fine indoors, as well. Our finish has the look and feel of wood without the maintenance.
How small can a carved letter be?
With NO Serifs, the smallest height can be 1/2″ with a stroke of 3/16″.
What forms of payment are accepted by The New Kit?
We except VISA, MasterCard, American Express.
How do you ship your signs ?

We offer two shipping methods: UPS and Freight. Single Kits up to 3′ x 6′ will ship via UPS. Any project over 3′ x 6′ and quantity orders will be shipped via Freight.
Can you carve detailed logos?
Maybe, we have achieved success carving highly detailed logos into PVC, however, the level of success is based upon the size of the logo and how clean the artwork is that is supplied to us.
How large of a wall sign can you make without having a glue seam?
The maximum length of a wall sign without a glued seem is ten feet. We have made signs up to 26′ with glued seams.
Do you offer hand painted logos ?
Yes, we offer hand painted logos for an additional fee. However, we highly recommend using a digitally printed logo on your PVC sign instead of a hand painted logo.

Processing and refining operations turn crude oil and gas into marketable products. In the case of crude oil, these products include heating oil, gasoline for use in vehicles, jet fuel, and diesel oil. Oil refining processes include distillation, vacuum distillation, catalytic reforming, catalytic cracking, alkylation, isomerization and hydrotreating.
Oil and gas are transported to processing facilities, and from there to end users, by pipeline, tanker/barge, truck, and rail. Pipelines are the most economical transportation method and are most suited to movement across longer distances, for example, across continents.
Midstream service providers apply technological solutions to improve efficiency during midstream processes. Technology can be used during compression of fuels to ease flow through pipelines; to better detect leaks in pipelines; and to automate communications for better pipeline and equipment monitoring.
